What matters
Use lukewarm milk; strong heat can damage yeast.
Air fryer vanilla milk rolls with butter and yeast dough. Allow two rises for a soft crumb and brush the small rolls with milk before baking.
Why this recipe works
Six small rolls make three servings without spread. Preparation includes 60 and 20 minutes rising plus 10 minutes cooling. Leave air gaps; small appliances need extra batches.
Recipe
Air fryer vanilla milk rolls with butter and yeast dough. Allow two rises for a soft crumb and brush the small rolls with milk before baking.
Mix flour, yeast, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Knead with 115 ml lukewarm milk and butter about 8 minutes. Cover and rise about 60 minutes until visibly expanded.
Divide into six equal pieces and round. Rise again about 20 minutes spaced on suitable insert. Brush thinly with remaining 10 ml milk without squashing risen rolls.
If required by the manufacturer, preheat for 3 minutes at 160 °C. Bake about 18 minutes at 160 °C. Check base and cut a roll for cooked crumb. Extend before cooling if needed; golden tops alone are not enough. Use a heatproof dish suitable for the appliance, leaving space around it for airflow. Do not preheat with loose paper.
Cool on rack about 10 minutes. Count two small rolls per serving without spread. Lightly sweet crumb should be soft and set, not raw sticky dough.
