Ingredients

Method

  1. 1

    Prepare

Grease the dish with all the butter. Cut the peeled apple into slices about 2 mm thin. Check the dish stands level before filling. Use a heatproof dish suitable for the appliance, leaving space around it for airflow. Do not preheat with loose paper.

  2. 2

    Mix and season

Whisk eggs with sugar and milk. Briefly whisk in flour and cinnamon until no dry pockets remain. Pour into the dish and spread apple evenly on top.

  3. 3

    Cook

If required by the manufacturer, preheat for 3 minutes at 160 °C. Bake about 22 minutes at 160 °C. The edge may rise and brown; the centre must also set and must not slosh when moved. Continue cooking if needed. Check that the thickest part reaches at least 70 °C for 2 minutes; continue cooking if needed.

  4. 4

    Check and serve

Remove with gloves and cool for 5 minutes. Divide and serve warm. Some sinking after baking is normal.
