Editorial responsibility lies with Evgenij Penkov. Comments about individual recipes can be sent to the contact address in the legal notice. Kochzauber does not publish anonymous author profiles or invented professional qualifications.
What a complete recipe must contain
A recipe should work without an additional search. It therefore needs an unambiguous title, a complete ingredient list with quantities, a logical method, serving and time information, and an image that matches the dish described.
Tips and FAQs must answer a specific kitchen question, such as the correct texture, a critical cooking point, a useful substitution, suitable accompaniments or storage. Interchangeable boilerplate is not treated as evidence of quality.
How editorial review works
Ingredients and quantities are first checked against the stated number of servings. The method is then reviewed: every ingredient used must appear in a step, temperatures and times must suit the technique, and the order must not omit necessary preparation.
For established dishes from a national cuisine, we consider their defining ingredients and techniques. Modern variations are welcome but should not be presented as the only traditional version. Finally, title, description, image, categories and internal links are checked against the recipe itself.
Publication status
Recipes marked as awaiting review are omitted from categories, search and the sitemap. Their preview pages use noindex and do not load advertising code. A recipe is published only after an individual review. Approval confirms a review of its content and presentation; it does not claim that every variation has automatically been cooked in the exact form pictured.
Categories, search and internal links
A category is assigned only when it helps visitors choose. A dessert is not classified as a main meal merely because of the time at which it may be served. Ingredient categories require the named ingredient to be important to the dish rather than present only in a minor amount.
Internal links lead to genuinely related collections or recipes and should support the next sensible cooking decision, not simply repeat search phrases.
Images, ratings and structured data
The main image should show the finished dish clearly. Responsive AVIF, WebP and JPG files are served to balance visual quality and loading time.
Structured data includes only information visible on the page or directly derived from the recipe. Stars and averages appear only after real visitor ratings; generated ratings are not displayed or included in Recipe schema.
Technical tools and human control
Technical tools, including AI-assisted systems, may help structure large datasets, prepare drafts, identify missing fields and perform consistency checks. They do not replace editorial approval. Responsibility for selection, factual correction and publication remains with the editorial team, and unreviewed drafts are not publicly listed or monetised.
Updates and error reports
A recipe date changes when the content itself is revised, for example its ingredients, quantities, steps, timing, categories or practical advice. Purely technical changes do not justify an artificial modification date.
If you notice a problem, send the recipe title or URL and describe the unclear information as precisely as possible. Valid corrections are reflected in the recipe, structured data and sitemap.
