Ingredients

Method

  1. 1

    Prepare

Grease dish with 5 g oil. Mix oats, flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Stir apple sauce smooth; do not substitute raw grated apple directly. Use a heatproof dish suitable for the appliance, leaving space around it for airflow. Do not preheat with loose paper.

  2. 2

    Mix and season

Whisk egg, sugar, remaining 15 g oil and apple sauce. Briefly mix dry ingredients and spread evenly. Avoid a deep dense layer.

  3. 3

    Bake and check doneness

If required by the manufacturer, preheat for 3 minutes at 160 °C. Bake about 25 minutes at 160 °C. Test centre: moist crumbs are fine, shiny raw batter is not. Extend if needed and watch top.

  4. 4

    Cool and portion

Cool at least 10 minutes before cutting four squares. Cool longer if fragile. Refrigerate leftovers rather than treating as dry cookies.
