What matters
Thick slices need longer; check thickness while cutting.
Air fryer sweet potato toast with cream cheese and tomatoes. Cook evenly thick slices until tender, then add the cold toppings after baking.
Why this recipe works
Four broad slices make two small breakfast servings. Toast describes the shape, not a crunchy bread texture. Sweet potatoes stay soft inside; very thin slices dry out more readily.

Peel sweet potato and slice lengthways into four broad pieces about 1 cm thick. Use unstable ends elsewhere; listed weight refers to usable slices.
Thinly coat slices with oil, salt and pepper. Dice tomato and drain watery released juice. Keep cream cheese chilled until topping.
If required by the manufacturer, preheat for 3 minutes at 180 °C. Cook without overlapping about 18 minutes at 180 °C, turning halfway. Test with a knife tip: centres should be tender too. Extend rather than serving hard raw slices.
Let steam off briefly, spread cream cheese and add tomatoes. Serve two slices each with knife and fork; warm vegetable bases are softer than bread.
