What matters
Dry well after washing. Oil coats wet surfaces poorly and extra water creates steam.
Roast radishes in the air fryer with olive oil and thyme. Halved roots become tender and milder; leave the leafy tops out of the basket.
Why this recipe works
Roasting softens the raw peppery bite while keeping radishes juicy inside. Weigh the trimmed roots without leaves. Quarter large radishes and halve small ones for even cooking.
Recipe
Roast radishes in the air fryer with olive oil and thyme. Halved roots become tender and milder; leave the leafy tops out of the basket.
Remove leaves and root tips. Wash and dry the radishes, then halve or quarter according to size. Weigh after trimming.
Mix with oil, thyme leaves, salt and pepper. Do not cook loose stems or dry leaves.
If required by the manufacturer, preheat for 3 minutes at 180 °C. Roast loosely for about 15 minutes at 180 °C, mixing gently after 8 minutes. Allow longer for very large pieces.
Pierce a thicker half: it should be tender with a slight bite. Serve warm as a vegetable side, not as a whole meal.
