Fix Tortilla Safely
The airflow can lift light edges. Place short wooden skewers far away from the heating element and count later.
A dry bean filling and grated cheese hold the crescents together. Wood skewers secure the edges against the strong airflow.
Why this recipe works
Light tortillas can lift up in the air fryer and approach the heating element. Fix each crescent with a short wooden skewer or a suitable metal grid of your device. Count the skewers before serving and remove them completely. A compact, non-wet filling prevents leaking cheese.
Recipe
Quesadillas with black beans, corn and cheese are crispy on the outside in the air fryer when the tortillas are securely folded and thinly oiled.
Mix beans dry and coarsely crushed. Mix with corn, spring onions, cumin and peppers.
Spread on one half some cheese, a quarter of the bean mixture and cheese again. Leave 2 cm of edge free.
Fold free half over and press slightly. Close each crescent with a short wooden spear securely.
Preheat air fryer to 180 °C. Spread Quesadillas very thinly on the outside with oil.
Cook one to two pieces for 3 to 4 minutes depending on the size of the basket, turn and bake for another 2 to 3 minutes.
Leave Quesadillas to rest for 2 minutes, pull out all wooden skewers completely and cut into triangles. Serve with salsa and lime.
