Why this recipe works

Small blueberry muffins from the air fryer

The air fryer is suitable for a small portion of muffins if the shapes are stable and not too high. Loose paper barrels can deform in the airflow; therefore place them in solid silicone or metal hollows. The exact number depends on basket diameter and size of the mould.

Ingredients

6 servings

Method

  1. 1

    Prepare forks

Six sturdy silicone or metal barrels thinly fat and put in the basket for testing. They must stand flat and at a distance.

  2. 2

    Mix dry ingredients

Mix 160 g of flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and vanilla sugar in a bowl.

  3. 3

    Mix liquid ingredients

Stir the egg, yoghurt and rapeseed oil in a second bowl. Add to the flour mixture and mix only briefly until no dry flour is visible.

  4. 4

    Pick up berries

Mix the blueberries with a teaspoon of flour and gently add them. Do not defrost frozen berries.

  5. 5

    Fill Forms

Put the dough into the moulds for a maximum of two thirds. Preheat the air fryer to 160 °C and use the moulds carefully.

  6. 6

    Bake through

Bake muffins for 14 to 17 minutes. Check with a wooden stick from minute 14 onwards; moist crumbs, but not liquid dough, may adhere.

  7. 7

    Allow to cool

Lift out the molds with a pliers. Leave muffins in it for 5 minutes and then cool on a grid.

Fill only two thirds

The dough needs space to rise.

Start rod sample early

Small air fryer muffins bake faster than large oven muffins. Check every one to two minutes from minute 14.
