Drain cherries well. From the total quantities rub 40 g flour, 20 g cold butter and 15 g sugar into loose crumbs. Grease the tin with 5 g butter. Use a heatproof dish suitable for the appliance, leaving space around it for airflow. Do not preheat with loose paper.
Beat remaining 35 g softened butter with remaining 25 g sugar. Beat in egg and milk, then briefly fold in 80 g flour with baking powder. Fill tin and top with cherries and crumbs.
If required by the manufacturer, preheat for 3 minutes at 160 °C. Bake about 30 minutes at 160 °C. Test down to the base with a skewer beside a cherry. No raw batter should cling; distinguish it from fruit juice. Continue baking if needed.
Remove safely and cool at least 10 minutes before releasing the cake. Cut into small slices; the base is fragile while hot.
