Use cold yogurt
Chilled yogurt and cold water allow immediate serving without another chilling phase.
Orange and carrot stay raw and are blended fully with yogurt. Serve the drink immediately without straining.
Why this recipe works
Cold ingredients remove the need for extra chilling. Finely grated carrot blends more easily. The recipe makes two large drink servings as a between-meal snack.
Recipe
A creamy yogurt drink with whole orange flesh, finely grated carrot and a little ginger.
Peel orange, remove coarse white pith and seeds and weigh the flesh. Cut into pieces and keep all the juice that runs out.
Wash, peel and finely grate carrot. Peel ginger and chop very finely. This keeps the blender from having to break down large hard pieces.
Put yogurt, all orange flesh and juice, carrot, ginger, water and sugar into a suitable blender. Blend as smoothly as possible for about 60 to 90 seconds. If needed, stop briefly, scrape the sides with a spatula and blend again.
Divide between two large glasses without straining and drink immediately. Fruit pulp and fine carrot fibres remain in the drink. This makes two drink servings as a between-meal snack, without ice cubes or extra garnish.
