What matters
Wet, tightly packed ingredients steam rather than roast. Prefer two loose batches to one overcrowded basket.
Air fryer turkey strips with peppers, courgette and onion. Cut evenly, spread loosely and check that the poultry is cooked through.
Why this recipe works
This is a lightly oiled turkey and vegetable dish, not a cream-based stew. A wide basket of about 5 to 6 litres helps keep the pieces loose. Smaller appliances need more batches. Rice and bread are not included.
Recipe
Air fryer turkey strips with peppers, courgette and onion. Cut evenly, spread loosely and check that the poultry is cooked through.
Pat the turkey dry and cut into short strips about 2 cm thick. Cut pepper into narrow pieces, courgette into half-slices and onion into thin wedges. Do not wash raw poultry. Clean hands and utensils after handling raw meat.
Mix everything with oil, paprika, salt and pepper. Keep clean serving utensils separate from the raw meat.
If required by the manufacturer, preheat for 3 minutes at 180 °C. Spread loosely in the basket and cook for about 18 minutes at 180 °C. Mix thoroughly after 9 minutes to expose hidden meat surfaces.
Check the thickest turkey strips. The vegetables should be tender with a slight bite. Divide between two plates using clean utensils and serve immediately. Check that the thickest part reaches at least 70 °C for 2 minutes; continue cooking if needed.
