Use metal rather than unsoaked wooden skewers
The specified times do not include soaking time. Matching short metal skewers avoid the problem of dry wood skewers in the hot air flow.
Evenly sized chicken cubes and narrow pieces of vegetables cook on short skewers. The pepper seasoning remains mild, while the cold yoghurt dip adds lemony freshness.
Why this recipe works
About 2.5 cm large meat cubes are a good starting point. Cut peppers and onion a little smaller and do not squeeze densely so that the air comes between the pieces. Four short metal skewers suitable for the basket are used. The recipe results in two portions with dip, but without rice, bread or other side dish.
Recipe
Short metal skewers with chicken, peppers and onion are cooked all around. Serve with a fresh parsley yogurt dip.
Cut chicken into approximately 2.5 cm cubes, do not wash. Cut peppers into slightly smaller squares, onion into narrow leaves. Mix meat, peppers and onion with oil, paprika powder, 2 g salt and pepper.
Spread over four short metal skewers and leave small gaps. Use only skewers suitable for the device; the tips must not touch the basket and heating element. According to the manufacturer's specification, preheat for 3 minutes to 180 °C.
Cook the skewers side by side at 180 °C for about 15 minutes, turn after 8 minutes. The thickest piece of chicken must reach at least 70 °C for 2 minutes in the core. If necessary, continue to cook; the meat colour alone is not sufficient as a test.
Meanwhile, mix yoghurt, lemon juice, parsley and remaining salt and keep cold. Do not reuse raw meat utensils. Serve two ready-cooked skewers with half of the dip.
Kitchen know-how
The specified times do not include soaking time. Matching short metal skewers avoid the problem of dry wood skewers in the hot air flow.
Free spaces between the pieces promote an even heating. Too large onion packets will remain firm for longer.
