What matters
Cut meat to even thickness so no large raw pieces remain among cooked strips.
Air fryer pork strips with mushrooms and mustard cream. Start mushrooms first, then add meat and cream in stages in a shallow heatproof dish.
Why this recipe works
Two meat servings with sauce, without pasta or rice. Use a shallow dish about 20 × 14 cm; avoid a deep ingredient layer. This is a creamy dish rather than a hard-seared pan stir-fry.
Recipe
Air fryer pork strips with mushrooms and mustard cream. Start mushrooms first, then add meat and cream in stages in a shallow heatproof dish.
Quarter mushrooms and finely slice onion; place in dish with half the oil. Trim pork sinew and cut short strips about 1.5 cm thick; keep separately chilled. Use a heatproof dish suitable for the appliance, leaving space around it for airflow. Do not preheat with loose paper.
If required by the manufacturer, preheat for 3 minutes at 180 °C. Precook mushrooms and onion about 10 minutes at 180 °C, stirring once. Carefully drain excess watery juices so the later sauce does not become too thin.
Toss meat with remaining oil, salt, pepper and thyme and add. Cook about 8 minutes at 180 °C, stirring. Mix cream and mustard, pour in and heat about another 6 minutes at 170 °C. Measure in the thickest meat piece. Check that the thickest part reaches at least 70 °C for 2 minutes; continue cooking if needed.
Stir sauce thoroughly and serve immediately. Without flour it stays fairly light and unthickened. Extend cooking if meat is not safely done rather than relying only on bubbling sauce.
