What matters
Avoid pools of sauce: excess tomato liquid softens the underside.
Air fryer courgette pizza bites with tomato, Gouda and oregano. Roast the thick vegetable slices first, then add the topping and melt.
Why this recipe works
These bites are a vegetable snack or side, not a complete pizza meal. Slices about 1.5 cm thick support a small amount of sauce without immediately falling apart.
Recipe
Air fryer courgette pizza bites with tomato, Gouda and oregano. Roast the thick vegetable slices first, then add the topping and melt.
Cut courgette into 1.5 cm slices and pat dry. Coat thinly with oil, salt and pepper.
Mix passata with oregano and grate cheese. Arrange slices in one layer; work in separate batches if space is limited.
If required by the manufacturer, preheat for 3 minutes at 180 °C. Roast courgette for about 8 minutes at 180 °C, turning after 4 minutes. It should soften slightly but remain easy to lift.
Spread sauce thinly, add cheese and cook another 5 minutes at 180 °C. Lift out once the cheese has melted.
