What matters
Split thick chicken breasts horizontally. A bulging centre cooks more slowly than thin edges.
Air fryer chicken burgers with crisp breadcrumbs, tomato, lettuce and yogurt mustard sauce. Thin breast fillets cook more evenly.
Why this recipe works
Two thin fillets of about 150 g each make two complete burgers. Cook the chicken first, then briefly warm the baked buns. Keep cold ingredients separate until assembly.
Recipe
Air fryer chicken burgers with crisp breadcrumbs, tomato, lettuce and yogurt mustard sauce. Thin breast fillets cook more evenly.
Mix yogurt with mustard and chill. Dry the lettuce and slice the tomato. Flatten chicken to an even 1.5 cm thickness. Do not wash raw poultry. Clean hands and utensils after handling raw meat.
Season chicken with salt and pepper. Coat in flour, egg and breadcrumbs in turn. Press on crumbs and brush evenly with oil.
If required by the manufacturer, preheat for 3 minutes at 180 °C. Cook fillets side by side for about 18 minutes at 180 °C, turning after 10 minutes. Remove with clean tongs once safely cooked. Check that the thickest part reaches at least 70 °C for 2 minutes; continue cooking if needed.
Halve buns and warm for about 2 minutes at 180 °C; secure against lifting as instructed by the manufacturer. Add sauce, lettuce, tomato and chicken.
